I have this spokeshave it has an Ohio tool cutter in it but haven't come across any info on it. It has 2 small springs on it.

To be honest, Ohio spoke shaves are the things I probably know least about as far as Ohio Tool Co goes. I have a buddy that has a No 053 which is exactly like yours except with curved handles instead of straight. He said that his has springs as well. So, I would assume they they all had springs.
Do you come across these often? Do all of the 054s have the small springs on them?
Hi! Thanks for posting! It looks like you have a No 054 spoke shave. The handles and cutter aren't exactly like the illustration in this catalog but I think it's still a No 054. The difference could be just from a different time period than this particular catalog.
